HISTORY OF THE VINEYARD
Established on the slopes
of Mont Ventoux
A maternal heritage
Crafted with unwavering passion, our wines invite you to a unique experience, at the heart of a centuries-old winegrowing estate in the Ventoux PDO. In deep respect for the heritage of which we are the custodians, Terre de Ghaya has been undertaking own-name winemaking since 2018, affirming our commitment to exceptional quality.
Our estate, rooted in the 1900s, was started by Roger & Jeannine HAUD and Gabrielle & Astolphe GERBAUD, my great-grandparents. They owned land where asparagus, olive trees, table and wine grapes flourished, establishing an authentic tradition.
In the 1970s, Gérard & Andrée, my grandparents, combined their diversified agricultural holdings, merging the family heritages of each.
When they retired, they bequeathed their heritage to their two daughters (my mother and my aunt).

In 2008, my father, Chokri Ghaya, himself a winegrower, took over 12 hectares of land and decided to restructure the vineyard to focus exclusively on wine grapes and olive groves.
Over a period of 10 years, he developed the estate, adding new grape varieties and replacing run-down plots, until it reached its current size of 30 hectares, characterized by a diversity of grape varieties and terroirs.
In 2016, with my mother's support, he decided to realize his dream by building his own winery. A project carried out independently, dedicated to winemaking excellence.
It took three years of work to build an eco-designed winery located at the foot of Mont Ventoux.
When the winery opened in 2018, I decided to continue this magnificent family adventure with my father.

Terroir & Grapes
"The richness of a terroir, the nobility of the grape varieties"
The estate is made up of 30 hectares, located around the town of Bédoin and Mormoiron.
Clay-limestone soils of great organic richness, sandy and stony soils, the vineyard has a varied terroir that allows us to bring complexity to our wines.
The grape variety is diversified, we grow white grapes: Roussane soon in production, Viognier, Grenache, and Clairette.
We have black grapes: Marselan, Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, Merlot and Caladoc.
A diversified vine-stock selection adds complexity to our wines.
